This Taco Grilled Cheese Sandwich is so loaded with goodness you may need a knife and fork to eat it!

If you love Mexican food and grilled cheese sandwiches, this delicious combo is for you.  You have taco seasoned ground beef and all the necessary toppings including lettuce, tomato, salsa, sour cream and guacamole.  And of course, lots and lots of cheese!

If you prefer, you can serve the sour cream and salsa on the side.  Or, as the photo shows, put it on top of the sandwich and eat it with a knife and fork…yum!

Treat yourself to this totally over the top, ooey-gooey grilled cheese sandwich.

Taco Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 15 minutes

Servings: 1

Ingredients
 
2 slices bread
1 tablespoon butter
2 slices cheddar (or 1/2 cup shredded)
1/2 cup taco seasoned cooked ground beef*
2 tablespoons salsa
2 tablespoons lettuce, shredded
2 tablespoons tomato, diced
1 tablespoon sour cream
1 tablespoon guacamole (optional)

Directions
 
Heat a clean pan over medium heat.
Butter one side of each slice of bread, place one slice in the pan with buttered side down, top with half of the cheese, the seasoned ground beef, salsa, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, guacamole, the remaining cheese and finally the other slice of bread with buttered side up.
Grill until golden brown on both sides and the cheese is melted, about 2-4 minutes per side.
Serve with extra salsa, guacamole and/or sour cream for dipping or topping.

*Taco Seasoned Ground Beef

Servings: 1-2

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef
1 batch taco seasoning**
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 cup water

Directions

Brown the meat in a pan and drain the grease.
Add the taco seasoning, cornstarch and water and bring to a boil.
Simmer until the sauce has thickened, about 10 minutes.

**You can always use your own favorite store bought seasoning, but this is a delicious taco seasoning to make and keep on hand.
